From Chips to Life: A Lesson in Cross-Species Empathy
In today’s era of rapid technological advancement, a company's value is no longer measured solely by technical breakthroughs, but also by the depth of its care for society and life. As a company deeply rooted in Hsinchu, we focus not only on the rigorous logic of circuit design but also on the vital connections between our employees and the community.
On March 18th, the Employee Welfare Committee organized a special ESG Life Education lecture. We were honored to invite experts from the Hsinchu Animal Protection Association to share their insights on "How to Understand Your Dog's Inner Voice."

From "Noise" to "Message": A Cognitive Shift

For many colleagues—whether they have "furry roommates" at home or not—dog barking was often perceived as random emotional venting or even a source of annoyance. However, through the instructor’s expert analysis, we realized that these sounds are actually part of a sophisticated linguistic system.

The "Logic" Behind Behavior: We learned that low-pitched growls often signal anxiety, while rhythmic, short-duration barks are used to send out alerts.
Non-Verbal Observation: The instructor taught us that understanding a pet requires more than just listening; it involves observing physical cues such as ear angles and the frequency of tail wagging. Much like the debugging process in engineering, where one must evaluate various parameters to find a solution, understanding life requires the same level of patience and precision.

Digital Interaction: An Immersive Learning Experience

To make the learning process more engaging, the lecture featured a live Kahoot competition. As questions popped up, the office atmosphere shifted from its usual focus on rigorous data discussion to a heartwarming and lively exchange. Colleagues held their breath as they tried to distinguish whether a dog in a video "wanted to go out" or was "feeling scared." This interaction not only deepened our understanding of animal protection but also made ESG education more vivid and memorable.

Practicing ESG: Building an Inclusive and Friendly Society

This lecture was more than just an employee benefit; it is a key component of our commitment to Social Responsibility. We believe in:

ESG is a continuous marathon. Through this "Furry Friend Communication" lecture, we have learned to slow down and observe life through a broader lens while simultaneously pursuing technical excellence. Moving forward, we will continue to implement corporate social responsibility, ensuring that empathy and warmth become the most defining characteristics of our corporate culture.
